The above courtesy visit was led by President En Kabur Ibrahim of Mexpa. The team compromised of state reps. Kabur introduced himself as having served the South African continent as a Trade Counselor and also Belgium too, He was happy to work together with South Africa ambassy and wanted Malaysia businessman to get an opportunity to trading.

HE Thami Dennis Mseleku welcomed members of Mexpa and noted Tan Sri Rafidah as our patron. HE expressed that he was keen on how Malaysian exporters could collaborate business with South African. HE hoped that more investment would come as the South Africa region was a developed nation and always welcomed new businesses.

HE Thami Dennis Mseleku spoke about the Asean regional mission as it was a new area of operation. South African was opening doors and said that it had many friends. Though they were neglected earlier, South Africans felt now the time had come to open up and not as earlier forecast depended on market.
South Africa has forecast especially on countries and helped that Malaysians could assist them on the unemployment training. HE spoke on his meeting with result inst- He Spoke on HIV status of young men and women effected by the disease. HE hoped that we could supply more of gloves condoms and medical materials. Most of the above matter items are now coming from China. He hoped that Malaysia SME’s could also assist South Africans.

En. Kabur emphasized a list be given to Mexpa to source necessary product and information. HE also spoke on the African internal issues. En Kabur welcomed the idea and said when South Africa delegates come, they can see some Business matching. He welcomed Mexpa to visit South Africa. En. Kabur said that Mexpa disseminated ideas to its members, held Luncheon Talks and assisted in introducing business people. This is the first meeting, HE said more to come and more collaboration can be done on business matching. Mr Koh informed that there was an automotive week 10-13/10 and that he represented SOC segments of fast east and needed support. Function was to attract automatic related Tourist in Cape Town ( Part Elizabeth). En Shafie spoke on a devise used for military and intelligent purposes. HE said that he will allow Mexpa rep to meet his defense advisor and a proposed can be made.

Mexpa rep requested if an university could be set up in South Africa and quoated Lim Kok Wing example. Mdm Sevaran requested that as she was in the line of requirement, She could attend to culinary and Tourism students with a UK based city college. HE explained that students were not kken to come Malaysia as they met a lof of Immigration, polica problems, and even with rela. Most Nigerian students were victims to this scenario. Anyways HE Said that Petronas had taken in 30 students and the emphasis was medicine studies. HE explained that he was pleased to come and join a Luncheon Talk, along with his travelling business people.070-664

Mexpa will make necessary arrangements for business people to visit South Africa and as it has established commercial hub, Malaysia can look forward towards more business opportunities.
